Since its launch on the Epic Games Store, Hades was eventually launched on Steam, and after it went 1.0 was also released on the Nintendo Switch. This woman's name was Eurydice, and her singing denoted the start of one of Hades ' most complicated side quests. Supergiant committed itself to routine updates, at least once a month or so, and constant communication with players. This would help create a community around Hades and provide the feedback the company desired. Though the Epic Games Store had only launched a day prior, Supergiant chose the new platform due to Epic's commitment to streamers and Youtube content creators. Since the studio was still relatively small, with around 20 employees, they also decided to release Hades on only one platform at a time. These include Sisyphus, Achilles, Patroclus, Orpheus and Eurydice, all of whom are famous characters whose myths, in some way, involve mortals trying to defy death. The reasoning was to help refine the development process so players of the game could provide feedback and guidance. Unlike the previous titles from Supergiant, Hades was released initially in an early access state. The game was originally released in late 2018 but reached 1.0 launch on September 17th, 2020.

Hades is the fourth release from Supergiant Games and their first foray into early access. Along the way, Zagreus will get assistance from Greek Gods that will provide upgrades and powerups. A roguelike game where players take control of Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the underworld and reach Mount Olympus.
